La Paz Malecon
La Paz (Spanish for "The Peace") is the capital city of the Mexican state of
Baja California Sur and an important regional commercial center. The city had a 2005 census population of 189,176 persons, but it can be consider that it roughly reaches the 200,000 persons because of its surrounding towns like "el Centenario", "el Zacatal" and "San Pedro". Its surrounding municipality, which is the fourth-largest municipality in Mexico in geographical size, reported a population of 219,596 persons living on a land area of 7,828.2 sq mi
La Paz is at a short two hour drive from Los Cabos, 1 hour from Todos Santos and 1.5 hours from Los Barriles and the East Cape Area. La Paz also enjoys the benefits of a modern international airport with daily round trip flights from Los Angeles, Phoenix and many other destinations. While Los Cabos has grown very rapidly in the two decades, this same pace of development has created many problems, denying it the attraction La Paz has as a well planned and developed small city. La Paz and one hour north of
Cabo San Lucas.
Todos Santos is known as a refuge for artists, and has also become a destination for retirement and living. The great restaurants and galleries around town combine with warm and friendly people.
During the 19th century Todos Santos thrived as the Baja sugarcane capital, which is still evident by the ruins of sugar mills. Now the rich farmlands have been re-worked & the town prospers from an abundance of vegetable and chili farming, avocado, papaya and mango orchards, fishing and ranching. East Cape Area

Los Barriles is located one hour from the
San Jose del Cabo international airport and 120 kms south
La Paz. This area is considered to be similar to the town of
La Ventana but maybe 10 years ahead of the pace. Still considered to be a small town but growing quickly with new resort locations and many
luxury homes being built here.
