Located closer to the airport this area is almost an extension of Cabo San Lucas now, separated by the hotel corridor which is approximately 30 miles in length. Enjoying a little quieter tourist, it has now opened it’s own marina which is called "Puerto Los Cabos". San Jose del Cabo has also experienced rapid growth as well as new projects under way. Excellent amenities for golf, restaurants and shopping.

San Jose del Cabo is the seat of the municipality of Los Cabos at the south end of the Baja California Sur Mexican state. Together with neighbouring Cabo San Lucas it forms a major tourist destination for travelers, particularly from the North America. The two cities are served by Los Cabos International Airport.

The mission San Jose del Cabo was founded in 1730; the nearby Río San Jose was useful to the Spanish as a source of fresh water for galleons traveling to and from the Philippines.
