I have had the pleasure of working with brian and yma to purchase a home in La Paz. This was our first time to buy internationally and to build from the ground up. The experience could not have been easier or better. We started with a phone call and brian walked us through the process, current properties, areas of town, pricing and all the details. We settled on a great location in a new development right on the marina in central La Paz. I then flew down to pick out finishing touches and finalize the paperwork. Brian helped with all the legal, and closing steps including financing which made it very easy. Once the house was built i flew down with my son to get it furnished and set up utilities and other services. Here yma proved amazing with her knowledge of the town and generosity! She took care of us every step of the way getting appliances, having the house cleaned, pre-paying bills and managing the property for us. Yma and brian have been indispensable in our purchase and management of the property and have made the entire experience wonderful. I can’t recommend them and diamante enough.

We recently purchased a property in Ocean Oasis in La Paz through diamante.

Investing is a stressful and sometimes a painful endeavor, this is due to many factors, one of which is the real estate agent you choose to deal with. As we reside in calgary the process of buying an investment property in México was quite daunting, to say the least.

However, brian westerlund was always up front, honest and very attentive despite communicating from another country. Brian met all of our requests with enthusiasm and in a timely manner, nothing was too much trouble. He has a wealth of knowledge of mexican law and if he could not answer a question directly, his staff and other local contacts were able to fill the gap.

His wife Yma, a native of La Paz was incredibly helpful when it came time to furnish our condo. She knew exactly where to take us for all our purchases and we would have been totally lost without her interpret ting our requests. She didn’t have to do any of this.

We would recommend, without hesitation, anyone buying a property here in La Paz to use the services of diamante. Diamante care about their clients and do not treat them like a transaction, but as people and as friends.

I certainly do not want to embarrass his lovely bride, so I will make something up. Just kidding, working with Brian was a dream. I first came into contact with Brian through a friend, with whom I had entered into contract on some property in an area close to La Paz. It turned out to be the “deal from hell” and Brian helped us find an attorney who enabled us to get out of our contract and have all of our money refunded.

I first met Brian over Thanksgiving in 2007 and had a limited amount of time to explore opportunities in La Paz and decide if that was the place for my retirement. I met Brian the day after we arrived and he showed us a lot of properties. Unfortunately, he was unavailable the next day and we got trapped into spending the next day with a realtor that made me feel as if I needed a shower after spending time with him. We got back together with Brian the next day and told him about our experience the day before and he came to our assistance again. We saw many other great properties that day, but my retirement partner (my sister) and I wanted to revisit a piece of property we had seen the day before with the realtor that gave me the creeps. So Brian called the developer and he met us at the property. We knew it was the right place for us. In fact, we checked out several lots in the same development, but kept coming back to the same lot.

We called Brian the next morning, because we were leaving Mexico early the next day. Brian met us for lunch and worked with us on the offer that we would make. He then went to work, while we played in La Paz. We all met us for dinner and he had an acceptance of our offer and made our vacation complete.

However, the best was yet to come. Brian was so helpful throughout the process and continuing in explaining the manner in which things are done in Mexico and enabling us to take the appropriate steps in complying with the laws and requirements in owning property there. He is still checking in with me and assisting me in more ways than I can describe. I have been so thrilled with the friendship and assistance that I have received from Brian and would be pleased to recommend him to anyone looking for Paradise in Mexico. Plus, there is an added bonus in the developers and their assistance to us. They have also been very accommodating and helpful and together they have convinced us that we have made the right decision and cannot wait to be able to spend the rest of our lives in our version of paradise. Obviously, Mexico is the right place for me to spend my retirement.
